Here come the price hikes from every-where!

August 17,2012- lewis1946@cox.net No such thing as SLAVE LABOR in AMERICA? Well, folks let me tell you something and why America is headed for some real hard and bad times. Worst than anyone has ever seen. This may be the end for America, but the new beginning for? First slave labor- Unicor is a government-run enterprise that employs over 13,000 inmates — at wages as low as 23 cents an hour — to make goods for the Pentagon and other federal agencies. Prison labor is absolutely destroying some businesses here in America. Did anyone see the CNN report on this? If not I suggest that you look it up. Wilson has been competing with Unicor for 20 years. He’s an executive at American Apparel Inc., an Alabama company that makes military uniforms. (It is not affiliated with the international retailer of the same name.) He has gone head-to-head with Unicor on just about every product his company makes — and said he has laid off 150 people over the years as a result. “We pay employees $9 on average,” Wilson said. “They get full medical insurance, 401(k) plans and paid vacation. Yet we’re competing against a federal program that doesn’t pay any of that.” How can any business make it in America? Now maybe your able to understand why so many business decisions are to move out of the United States. Did you know that there are more tax preparers in the United States than there are police officers and firefighters combined? Of course not, because your not paying attention to your government. In 2011, American consumers spent 399 billion dollars on products made in China. The United States has actually lost an average of about 50,000 manufacturing jobs a month since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001. During 2010 alone, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities closed their doors in America every single day. This is still continuing daily with manufacturing jobs left. How many just this year have you seen close this year? How about that bail out on cars? Since the auto industry bailout, approximately 70 percent of all GM vehicles have been built outside the United States. 100 million Americans are enrolled in at least one welfare program run by the federal government. Many are enrolled in more than one. That is about a third of the entire population of the country. Sadly, that figure does not even include Social Security or Medicare. Today the federal government runs almost 80 different "means-tested welfare programs", and almost all of those programs have experienced substantial growth in recent years. Yes, we will always need a "safety net" for those that cannot take care of themselves, but it is absolutely ridiculous that the federal government is financially supporting one-third of all Americans. How much farther do things really need to go before we finally admit that we have become a socialist nation? At the rate we are going, it will not be too long before half the nation is on welfare. Unfortunately, we will likely never get to that point because the gigantic debt that we are currently running up will probably destroy our financial system before that ever happens. It is really hard to believe how rapidly some of these federal welfare programs have grown. For example, the number of Americans on food stamps has grown from about 17 million in 2000 to 31.9 million when Barack Obama took office to 46.4 million today. The federal government spent a staggering 71.8 billion dollars on the food stamp program in 2011. That sure is a lot of money to spend on food. And I thought that my grocery bills were high. But, next month a few changes will take place, if they don’t then all I can say is I tried my best to warn everyone. Food stamps will be cut 50% for everyone. So many people talk about the coming economic collapse as if it is some massively hyped event that they will be able to point to on the calendar, and a lot of writers spend a lot of time speculating about exactly when it will happen. But as I have written about before, the economic collapse is not a single event. The economic collapse has been happening, it is happening right now, and it will be getting a lot worse. Yes, there will be moments of great crisis. We saw one of those “waves” back in 2008 and another “wave” is rapidly approaching. But all of the waves are part of a process that is continually unfolding. Over the past 40 years, the United States and Europe have piled up the greatest mountain of debt in the history of the world, and now a tremendous amount of pain is heading our way. Economic conditions in the United States and Europe have already deteriorated badly and they are going to continue to deteriorate. Nothing is going to stop what is coming. But many people are still in denial about our economic decline. Some people still believe that everything is going to be just fine. Way too often I get comments on my site that go something like this…. “I just don’t know what you are talking about. Where I live everything is just fine. The malls are packed, the restaurants are full and everybody I know is going on vacation this summer. Personally, I am doing great. I just bought a 60 inch television and a new boat. Every year all the ‘doom and gloom’ types such as yourself proclaim that an economic collapse is right around the corner but it never happens. And you know what? It is not going to happen. Those in charge know what they are doing and America has the greatest economy on earth. We have overcome challenges before and we will be able to handle whatever comes this time. Your lack of faith in America and in the American people astounds me. Everything is going to be just fine, so why don’t you just *************************************.” You get the idea. I definitely understand that most Americans are terribly self-involved these days, but when I read comments like this I am once again amazed at just how delusional some people can be. Why can’t people just open their eyes and look at the evidence of economic collapse that is all around us? Yes, there are wealthy enclaves all over the country where things may seem better than ever, but that is not the reality for most Americans. All over the country, our infrastructure is in shambles. All over the country, our once proud cities are being transformed into hellholes. All over the country, formerly middle class families are living in their cars. There are dozens and dozens of economic statistics that clearly show that we are in the midst of a long-term economic decline. I have listed 65 of them below, but I could have easily doubled or tripled the size of the list. I simply do not understand how anyone can believe that things are “great” or that the U.S. economy is going to be “just fine”. We are living through a complete and total economic nightmare, and hopefully we can get more Americans to wake up from their entertainment-induced comas so that they can begin to understand exactly what is happening to this country. Electricity bills in the U.S. have risen faster than the overall rate of inflation for five years in a row. I went nuts looking at mine and yelled at everyone to shut things off! According to AARP, 600,000 American homeowners that are 50 years of age or older are currently in foreclosure. No, I am fine as I watch over everything for you! But, your not listening. Maybe you will, when you go fill that gas tank today? Going shopping afterwards? Great, cut that shopping list in half. Oh, wait, best buy it all as next week the price will have increased even more. Decisions, decisions... I went to Mt. Vernon Wednesday, and could not believe all the corn fields that were dried up and just thinking what a mess this country is in. But, then I found this item For the past few years, large biotech companies have been developing genetically engineered corn seeds that would be able to withstand drought. With this summer’s sweltering dry heat sweeping across the nation, many farmers are losing a lot of their crops. While most farmers are frowning at the sight of dead and inedible corn, biotech companies are hopeful because their genetically modified corn is looking like it is doing its job. A farmer from Kansas named Clay Scott said, “I’ve been surprised so far. The plants are responding well,” regarding his two plots of Monsanto’s new GM “DroughtGard Hybrids” that he planted. The altered gene in the seeds is supposed to cause the plants to draw water more gradually out of the soil. Mr. Scott went into detail saying, “The ear size, kernel counts, the ear weights look good but pretty corn doesn’t always result in yield”. DroughtGard will not be commercially sold until next year; although it is currently being tested is almost seventy different parts of South Dakota. Monsanto’s Technology Development Manager for Nebraska and North and South Dakota was looking at the corn and said, “We might lose some of those kernels here, but if we happen to catch a rain those might go ahead and fill out.” Seed dealer at Pioneer Hi-Breds and farmer is using a product of DuPont’s called AQUAmax, said, “I think it will be a good year even if we don’t have those 200 yields.” AQUAmax ended up raising yields by seven percent. This year, DuPont will be marketing seventeen different variations of their drought-resistant product. If interested, your able to go and finish the story. Today, I took one of my grand kids to work, the one that really was a lot of help to me when he first arrived. Now, not even a full month into this great paying job and he has called in sick, as well as arrived late a few times. As many of you know I am just an old guy that has seen more and been in more than the majority of the citizens as our leaders call us. I warned this kid that jobs are hard to get, let alone keep and being tired is not being sick! Wanting to sleep later because he was up all night with his so called friends. I started to ask for thirty percent of his take home pay for rides to as well as from work as well allowed him to move in his homeless girlfriend so he stated and that thirty percent also covered his roof over his head as well as a big private room with Cable television and internet and phone service. But, he had to buy his own food and anything else. If he felt that was to much then motels are at $500.00 a month with all that and even maid service. Low income places they could not get at this time. But with all my telling him did no good, as he was told to call his super tomorrow as he may be out of a job. Of course like all twenty year old kids, I’ll get another. Sorry grandfather is not in good enough health to run around any more especially with the gas prices to be climbing well into four plus dollars very soon. I even warned him that he will miss that money and not buy any food as he will be broke and I am not going to support his life style. Already will need to find a home for their cat and dog even. Yes, still have another rental person with same lazy effects and gave up on him last month but grandchild was feeding and taking care of him till lost of job or no work at lease to nite. But, people if get into any field of work of over ten dollars and hour with no high school education even, best stay with it, as your never going to find another as job records now days follow you! But, what do I know, I am old and not very bright. Hear it all the time and just smile and go have my breakfast or dinner at one of my favorite stops and then back home and search the world news for the rest of those that read my news letter. Strange had my older son knock on my door and some other friend of a friend asked for a place to stay tonight, yea I said fine. Guess his old lady is getting thirty thousand dollars tomorrow and there getting a place. Great, so that means maybe everyone will get a big place and move and I can save a lot. But, told him that I am not going to feed him, as just can’t afford to feed people and pay all the bills here as my retirement is not that great not even with the pension from another work source. In fact that pension I am scared of as the good old government convicted them of fraud and they have to pay thirty billion dollars in fines, so where will that money come from as all these places think only of the bottom line and to hell with the slave workers as they need to be replaced after so many years anyways. Yes, all you younger people best heed this warning and never leave a job because it doesn’t work for you. If your not doing it, I am willing to bet that someone else will be and you’re the one that will be doing without! Guess I best post this as started one earlier and the power went off and hear the rain falling again. Besides need to get my sleep in, I hope!
